Looking at all the files and photographs I had in my pendrive I came around this one. Honestly I had completely forgot about all this pictures and I had no recollection of having them on my pendrive so I guess this time I got lucky.
I took this picture last year sometime around February when I was on a trip in Shanghai, China. I remember that that night, I went with my family and some relatives for a walk at some touristic place in town, known for being one of the most beautiful places to visit in the New Year. The place is really popular for the Chinese ancient architecture and all the lights at night-time. It was a really beautiful place, filled with lights because of the festivities and lots of people walking around. Really...it was so crowded that I could barely see where I was going or let alone walk and keep track of my little brother and family. I was a little stressed because of the crowd but it was a funny experience nonetheless. I even remember that we couldn't pass through a group of people looking at something and we did't get to see all of the place.
The picture was taken when we reached the center of the place. There was this huge bunny thing (I don't really know if it counts as a statue) and I remember that the first thought that came to mind was that it was ugly and somewhat creepy. But looking at it now, it's not that terrible *laughs*. Well the bunny thing was because of the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese Zodiac. Every year they make a giant animal based on the year and zodiac. I think this one picture came out pretty well now that I see it again.

My favourite piece of technology
When I think about technology I can't help but think of my laptop. And I realize the importance it has in my everyday life. I often think I couldn't do anything without it, but I guess for some people this statement would sound like an exaggeration. Well yeah... Surely I can live without it, it's not like my computer is my life, but it's not that far from it because my work usually requires one.
The thing I like about computers is that you can do almost anything with them as long as you have internet. That's a little disadvantage because a computer without internet is not so useful. I can only do a limited number of things, but still...
Well going back to what I was saying about liking my computer, one of the biggest advantages y that I can store everything I need, related to work and personal entertainment in there. And you can work, listen to music, chat with friends and look for information or take a look at the news, read, etetera; all with only one piece of technology. And you can take it anywhere you like because it's portable. So basically, almost all of the time, my laptop is really my everything. I got it like 3 years ago and I still love it as if it were new. I use it everyday and before I got my actual one, too.
But, forgetting about work -which would be very difficult to do without it- and taking into consideration all the time we usually spend in front of a computer, it's not that I can't get enough of it. Sometimes you get bored, too, so it's not my whole life.

Learning English online
I looked around the bbc website and I think it's great. The articles there are really interesting and it's new for me to use this kind of method, such as reports, videos and articles to learn english. I think that way, you can learn and gain vocabulary reading actual news and interesting things and it's way easier to remember than the classic boring way of memorizing words. Like the "To let the cat out of the bag" example. It was funny how they used the example of a real cat in a bag to explain that the expresion means "no to tell the secret to anyone". In this case it was an example using a dialogue.
I read various articles like the "Gyrocopter" one, something like a helicopter/car hybrid. It sounded really weird, but if the idea chatches on - that's a word used in the text and it means something like becoming popular- it would mean the end of traffic jams.
There are other sections on the page that cought my attention like the quizzes. I have to say that they are somewhat difficult but a great way to learn from your own mistakes.
And lastly, the "Keep your English up to date" part that teaches common expresions used in everyday life, like bottler, a person who lacks the courage to go through with something, as described in the article.
Well that's my opinion... Interesting website.

Visiting other cities

Last year in May I went on a trip with my group of friends from university. We went to Viña del Mar and we stayed at a friend's apartment.
I know it's not really far from Santiago and to me i'ts not that interesting of a place to visit because I go there often with my family, not to mention I'm not that fond of the beach, but this time I thought of it as a very entertaining trip not beacause of the place, but who I was with.
We went by bus and stayed there for two nights and it was really fun with everyone there. It was my fist time going to the beach with friends and without parents or teachers or whatever.
For the things we did, we went out for a walk, played a bit in the beach, went to the shopping center and took a bus to Valparaiso. At night we watched movies and stayed up late, eating sweets and laughing.
Again, I have to say it was a fun experience.
